Chera, Chola, Pandiya, and Pallava kings had left their marks every where in South India. Chola dynasty had built shiva temples in South India and even in far away southeast. Because of these kings the tradition and culture of South India had been protected from the foreign invaders for centuries.

But the last surviving dynasty of Tamil is in Ramanathapuram. King ruled this land with truth and with blessings of god.
